How to set up your eSIM on Android

Last updated June 9, 2026

Before you begin

You'll need your setup email, a Wi-Fi connection, and a few minutes. The wording moves around a little by brand, but the steps are the same everywhere. Setting up early is fine — your plan stays dormant until it starts.

Add the eSIM

Open Settings > Connections (or Network & internet) > SIM manager > Add eSIM, then choose Scan QR code. Point the camera at the QR code in your setup email until it registers.

If the QR code won't scan

Tap “Enter it manually” (sometimes shown as “Need help?”) and type the activation code from your email exactly as shown. It's case-sensitive, so copy it carefully.

Pick your data SIM

When Android asks which line to use for mobile data, choose the new Globeelink line. Keep your home SIM for calls and texts if you still want them.

After setup

Once your plan starts, your phone connects on its own. If nothing happens at your destination, turn Airplane Mode on and off once, or restart the phone.
